Felix
Chavez; Internationally recognized dance
educator, champion, choreographer in the
art of Partner Dance. For over four decades
he has established a repertoire in International
Modern Ballroom Dance and Latin American
Dance, West Coast (Sophisticated) Swing,
American Ballroom & American Latin,
Hustle, Mambo, Lambada, Adagio Theater
arts and the dance craze of the late 80s
and 90s, the passionate Tango Argentino
and the hot hot Salsa.
Over
the years Felix has traveled the World,
through USA, Canada, Europe and South
America; England, France, Switzerland,
Germany, Austria, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia,
Mexico City, and Argentina (Buenos Aires)
that he might teach, lecture and expand
his knowledge in the wonderful world of
partnership dancing.
Mr.
Chavez is a winner of the 1991 and 1992
Feather Award (The Oscar award of Partnership
Dance) sponsored by the National Publication,
Dance Action magazine. The Feather Award
Felix won was for Best Tango Performer
/ Professor. He is credited with extensive
experience in competitions, winning several
championships in Theater Arts, Ballroom,
Latin, and West Coast Swing.
For
the last 39 years the Tango Argentino
has been his Special forte in which the
tango was without too much popularity
from the time he studied it in 1964 until
the 1980s. Suddenly this dance found
re-newed popularity and caught fire in
the late 80s and in the 90s
spreading worldwide, and continues to
grow even now into the 21st century!
